Areas of use of enamel
Versatile and efficient, vitreous enamel is an essential material with remarkable properties, which is used in many different areas, notably for cooking, durability, information, embellishment, hygiene and innovation.
COOK
The high heat resistance of vitreous enamel makes it an ideal material for coating cooking appliances
LAST
The hardness of vitreous enamel is remarkable and comparable to hardness of glass and close to hardness of diamond.
INFORM
All decoration techniques such as screen printing are applicable with vitreous enamel material.
BEAUTIFY
The aesthetic possibilities of vitreous enamel are practically endless : with shiny, matte or metallic reflections.
HYGIENE
Wherever hygiene is required, vitreous enamel guarantees impeccable sanitary conditions and ease of cleaning.
FUTURE
We discover new uses for vitreous enamel every day…
4000 years after its discovery.
Cook
For more than 100 years, vitreous enamel has been present in our kitchens where its qualities of hygiene, resistance and comfort are recognized. The interior lining of the ovens resists steam release and temperatures of up to 480°C for those equipped with a pyrolysis system.
When heated, the vitreous enamel does not release any toxic elements. Its smooth surface is completely antibacterial.
Culinary items made of steel or enameled cast iron are suitable for all types of cooking. Energy consumption is optimized thanks to their potential for absorption, diffusion and restitution of heat.
• Because enamel resists temperatures ranging from -50°C to +450°C, an enameled dish can go from the refrigerator to the oven without being damaged.
• Gentle and regular cooking in enameled cast iron preserves all the nutritional qualities of the food and reveals the authenticity of their flavors.

Last
Vitreous enamel resists not only scratches but also corrosion, vandalism, chemical attacks, bad weather, etc.
Enamel is suitable for spaces subject to significant user flows. Its scratch resistance protects it against vandalism, and graffiti can be cleaned as easily as on a window thanks to its resistance to chemical agents.
Prolonged contact with hot water increases the risk of corrosion with many materials while enamel avoids this risk thanks to its chemical stability.
For urban equipment, vitreous enamel is the coating that protects equipment the longest.
Very heat resistant
Resulting from a fusion at 1200°C, the enamel is very resistant to heat, direct contact with the flame and temperature differences.
Effective on the open sea
In the open sea, enamel effectively protects buildings against salt attack.
Exceptional longevity
The longevity of the enamel slows down the product replacement cycle. Choosing enamel means considerably limiting waste production.
Recyclable
Enamel is 100% recyclable. After separation from its support, the enamel slag serves as road embankment.
Inform
All decoration techniques such as screen printing are applicable with enamel material, it becomes the ideal support for communicating messages and information in public places.
• Vitreous enamel is ideal for creating high-quality tourist information panels. It guarantees readability and resistance to attacks for decades.
• Enameled signage is used at all latitudes. The panels resist external aggressions : temperature, rain, wind, frost.
• In advertising, brands have chosen enamel for the quality of its colors which do not change shades even when exposed to ultraviolet rays and ozone.
• The plaques on the pediments of businesses also use enamel for its extreme shine. The absence of static electricity of the coating prevents the deposit of dust and dirt.
• Enamel conveys a quality image. The airline Alitalia made no mistake in choosing it to adorn the facades of its agencies all over the world.
• On enameled steel writing boards with low surface porosity, felt-tip marks can be removed with a simple cloth. But in the case of a permanent marker, you must use an organic solvent.

Beautify
Thanks to a wide range of colors, the aesthetic possibilities of vitreous enamel are practically endless; with shiny, matte or metallic reflections, enamel opens up wide graphic possibilities..
• The enameled illustrations do not change over time and under the action of atmospheric phenomena. The total absence of organic components prevents any aging phenomenon.
• Colored enamel can adapt to all fashions. Used with fantasy, it beautifies the house.
• Enameled decorations will never discolor and will retain the splendor of their colors over time.
• The enamel can be easily screen printed in four-color process.
• Artfully treated, enamel reinforces the quality image of high-end products.
• The original shapes are highlighted thanks to the enamel coating: colorful, pleasant to the touch, shiny, noble.
Hygiene
Wherever hygiene is required, enamel guarantees impeccable sanitary conditions and ease of cleaning.
Enamel is ideal for the interior lining of water heaters, thanks to its corrosion resistance which allows products to be made safe for years of use.
The longevity of enameled bathtubs is recognized. Limescale deposits can be removed without damaging the surface.
In the kitchen, enamel is not attacked by food acids and detergents.
Public equipment must withstand frequent use over time. Enamel-coated furniture guarantees quick, long-term maintenance.
For the coating of iron soles, enamel guarantees resistance to water vapor and perfect sliding.
An enameled surface being vitrified does not absorb odors or flavors, and thus prevents the development of mold, bacteria and dirt.

Future
Special pyrolysis enamels eliminate all dirt deposits when heated to high temperatures. They have made it possible to manufacture ovens that are never cleaned by hand.
With a specific composition, enamel can also become an electrical conductor and be used for the manufacture of high-power heating elements (3000W/dm2). Heat transfer is optimum because the heating source is in contact over the entire surface of the product to be heated.
If automobile exhaust pipes and mufflers were enameled, they would offer such resistance to wear that they would never be replaced during the life of the vehicle.
«Easy-to-clean»
The latest generations of pot enamels use “easy-to-clean” technologies and are less likely to stick to food.
Contains silica
Because vitreous enamel contains primarily silica, it is an excellent electrical insulator that can be used to make electronic components.
Thanks to its exceptional shine
white enamel reflects all types of radiation. It can be very effective for the manufacture of lighting fixtures or radiant ovens for example
